Here is a question you may have asked yourself: Why do braces need to go on the front of the teeth, making them so visible?

Well, we have an answer that might surprise you: They don’t need to go on the front of the teeth. In fact, we offer braces that go on the lingual—or tongue—side of the teeth. The brand we use is called Incognito.

How Does Incognito Work?

Incognito works like any other braces, applying force to the teeth to move them. The only major difference is that the brackets are placed on the backs of the teeth rather than the fronts. Another small difference is that they must be custom made for you, while traditional braces are mass produced and then tailored to your anatomy.

Who Can Wear Incognito Braces?

Almost everyone who can be treated with traditional metal braces can also be treated using Incognito. We do restrict their use to patients who are at least 13 years old, as too much growth can impact their effectiveness. We suggest Incognito to anyone who cannot use Invisalign but needs to keep their treatment discreet.
